B&B&3 is a collaboration between B&B Italia and Wallpaper – Viktor & Rolf, Elmgreen & Dragset and Baron & Baron have been invited to create 3 very different interpretations of the new Grande Papilio Chair, designed for B&B Italia by Naoto Fukasawa. The one-off chairs will be donated to the HIV and AIDS charity Terrence Higgins Trust for a special auction. One of the chairs that got my attention is the Hair Chair by Baron & Baron …it’s very unique and you can see more images with the chair below.

Take a look at this fantastic collection of chairs from Sebastian Brajkovic. Exhibited in London earlier this year, the set is called “Lathe” and brings together several extruded shapes that can be characterized as having a bold look and a lot of color. Here is what Sebastian Brajkovic stated related to the designs : “This extruding idea came from a Photoshop function where you can pick a row of pixels and extend them as long as you want“. The “extended” chairs sure have a great effect and could fit well in any daring interior. Antique forms contribute to the originality of the set and it seems that every individual chair component gives away something special and new to the viewer. – via
The Pion Chair is about highlighting the contrast between the two elements that compose a chair, the structural mechanical element, and the human interaction element. Rather then starting with the structural and then putting the human part on top, the designer moved the structural to the outside and the interaction to the inside. Thus, both elements live on the same plane with one another, rather then stacked. Also, the inside appears to float on its own since it does not interact with the outer frame on the backside. This creates an interesting visual effects which adds emphasis the division of the elements, but it also serves a functional purpose. The disconnect allows the panels have a bit of movement to them, thus allowing for a bit of flexibility when accommodating a user to avoid an overly rigid feel. – Sent via email by Alek Shnayder
The Frankenstein Chair was designed by T.M.Schmid for Strala and I have to admit that is a piece of furniture that is at least wired. This chair looks like a joke for me, because there is no design, just a few random pieces that are put together. I don’t see this chair in to many homes, and I hope that is just a concept. What do you think ? – Via – Notcot
Since I run Freshome I’ve saw a lot of interesting pieces of furniture but this one is really unique. Designed by Svilen Gamolov the Snake Bar Stool is radically designed and resembles a hissing snake ready to strike at the challenged with a vicious and fatal poisonous bite. Carved out of wood this superb piece of furniture can easily blend with any furniture of your home dimension. The incredible color of the snake bar stool gives it a superior look and one can comfortably seat on it. This chair is just a concept for now, but you have to admit that the idea is just awesome. – Via – Elitechoice
Designed by Designers Damaris&Marc Design Studio from Barcelona the Ilium Chair combines plastic and wood to create a piece inspired in a female human pelvis bone. Its shape reminds one of a flower and its avant-garde style fits the greatest rooms. Carved out of wood and plastic shell’s bone, this stylish chair has incredibly organic design. The chair features two front legs and a pair of wood feet attached to the back portion of the chair, and also a wood backrest that adhere the two sides of plastic shell. The cool looking chair also has an additional upholstered cushion to endow you with comfort. – Via – Yatzer
