In Napa a gorgeous new eco resort has opened – the Bardessono is now complete on the six-acre farmstead in Napa Valley of the Bardessono family. The inn and spa used many green building strategies including rammed earth walls, grey and black water treatment systems, and ground heat exchange geothermal and solar energy.
The doors, desks, floors and ceilings are recycled cypress. Eco developer Phil Sherburne and architect Ron Mitchell are pursuing LEED certification for the project.
Building a luxurious restaurant, spa, and hotel in the middle of such an authentic and naturally rich area as Napa Valley’s Yountville is no mean feat. The project carefully blends the agrarian qualities of the winemaking industry, contemporary architecture, artful interiors, a focus on private accommodations and landscaping grounded in natural materials.
This project shows a deep commitment to the heritage and environmental responsibility of the valley through innovative sustainability in every detail of the property design and management.
This project was done sustainably, in a way that builds a relationship between the land and the surrounding community.
